Audi, VW & Škoda DPF Cleaning in Kent: Understanding the Warning Light
An amber DPF warning on a diesel Audi, Volkswagen or Škoda means the vehicle needs attention. It does not automatically mean the filter needs replacing, and the right response depends on the exact model and other symptoms.
One warning light or several?
Take a photograph of the dashboard and note the message before switching off. Volkswagen’s DPF guidance distinguishes between a DPF light on its own and multiple warning lights. Extra warnings can change the advice, so do not assume every DPF light calls for the same action.
Use the correct handbook instructions
Some early soot-loading warnings can be resolved through the manufacturer’s prescribed regeneration drive. The conditions and instructions vary. Follow the handbook for your own Audi, VW or Škoda rather than applying a generic engine speed or road speed found online.
What if the light will not clear?
A persistent light, reduced performance or a warning that returns needs investigation. Tell us how long it has been present, whether the car has attempted to regenerate and what previous work has been done. We use the vehicle details and diagnostic findings to assess what is happening.
On-vehicle cleaning for suitable filters
If soot is restricting a suitable DPF, a professional on-vehicle clean can help restore flow without removing the filter. The underlying cause still matters. Cleaning does not resolve a separate fault that prevents normal regeneration.
